The Town of Pittsford voted Tuesday night to appoint current Acting Town Supervisor Sandra Zutes to the permanent position.
Zutes has been serving in a temporary role since November when longtime supervisor Bill Carpenter resigned to take a position at the Monroe County Water Authority. Zutes previously served as deputy town supervisor. She says that experience will make the transition smoother.
"I've been serving as deputy supervisor and doing everything when Bill was out of town," says Zutes. "So basically it's the same function, and we're really trying to keep that moving along so the transition is smooth."
Zutes will serve out the remainder of Carpenter's term but doesn't plan on running in 2013.
