The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is in its final stretch and nearing the goal of $560,000.
To date, more than $417,000 has been raised and more than 8,000 people have volunteered their time to ring the bell.
"It's heartwarming to see how generous this community truly is," said Captain Randy Orr, executive director of The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester. "The kettles will close late afternoon Monday, December 24. We urge residents of this great community to continue giving, as the need in our area has grown more than 20 percent from 2011."
