Lease negotiations to keep the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium have picked up again after a slowdown caused by Superstorm Sandy, and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says county, state and team officials are making progress.
Poloncarz says that while everything is on the table, a long-term deal is favored over a one-year extension of the current lease, an idea that was talked about earlier this year. During a phone call Wednesday, he declined to discuss specifics.
The Bills' current lease expires July 31.
Poloncarz says the talks have picked up in recent weeks after slowing while the state officials involved focused on storm devastation downstate following October's hurricane.
On WGR radio Wednesday, Bills Chief Executive Russ Brandon also said the lease negotiations were progressing.
