Newark man charged with attempted robbery in Canandaigua

A 21-year-old Newark man has been charged with an attempted robbery in Canandaigua.

Police tell News10NBC Ralph Melton Jr. went to a home on Antis Street where he brandished what appeared to be a weapon and demanded money from the four people inside the home. Investigators say Melton Jr. left after a verbal altercation.

No one was injured during the incident and no property was taken.

Melton Jr. was arraigned and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
