Another school district is dealing with threats for this Friday. The principal at Fairport High School sent a letter home to parents.
School leaders say they received a number of reports about a possible violent incident to take place at the school on Friday, December 21 but school officials say they consider it a rumor without merit.
Principal Joe Fantigrossi said, “Well what we are hearing is a concern that there was something on Twitter regarding students bringing weapons to the building on the 21st as a result of it being, according to the Mayan calendar interpretation by some, the end of the world so to speak and in our investigations we have not found any support for that.”
Officials say student safety is always their top priority and they’ll continue to monitor the situation.
