News10NBC talked Friday with the woman who bought the house next door to the Webster shooter, William Spengler.
Spengler lived at 191 Lake Road in Webster. Amy Warner says she bought the house at 193 and was in the process of renovating it, but hadn't moved in yet.
Warner says the first time she met Spengler, he just blurted out that he had killed his grandmother in the house years ago.
Warner said, “The first time he came over, he just basically said, 'I suppose you heard about the guy who killed his grandmother in the house?' And he said, 'That was me.' And then he continued on that he was looking for money for drugs and 'she didn't give it to me.' What do you say to that? I kind of let him talk a little more. And then when he said that about the drugs, I thought, 'Well, that was from the 70's and he did his time. And he really was a soft-spoken guy and he wasn't intimidating.”
Warner says she thinks Spengler may have snapped after his mother died last fall.
