The American Cancer Society says the number of people diagnosed with HPV-related cancers is on the rise. That's despite the availability of two vaccines that protect against the infection.
The latest numbers show that only one-third of girls between ages 13 and 17 had received all three doses of the HPV vaccine in 2010.
Researchers say in order to reverse the current trend, more efforts are needed to increase the number of girls getting the vaccine.
