The trial for a Webster teenager charged with killing three of his family members could be delayed until the spring.
Michael Pilato, 16, is charged with setting a fire at his family's home back in December 2011 that killed his father Carmen Pilato, 71, and his two younger brothers Joshua and Peter.
News10NBC spoke with Pilato's attorney Andre Vitale. He said he filed the motion to adjourn because of the Christmas Eve tragedy that happened in Webster last month.
Pilato is due in court on Thursday when a judge will rule on the motion to delay Pilato's trial.
The trial is still scheduled to begin on Monday.
Pilato has pleaded not guilty and is being prosecuted as an adult.
