McQuaid Jesuit’s varsity football coach has resigned. The school made the announcement Thursday morning.

"Bobby Bates elevated our football program to a new level over his four years as head coach," said McQuaid Jesuit Athletic Director David Spiehler. "Most importantly he represented the values and mission of McQuaid Jesuit both on and off the field. We are grateful for his time and dedication to the program."

Bates will continue to work full-time in the Physical Education department. There is no word on Bates’ replacement at this time.
