Abby is back! The soccer superstar will now play in Rochester for the Western New York Flash  and fans are excited. This is big news for Abby's family too.

Abby's friends and family are extremely excited. For everyone, this means a whole lot more of Abby.

Fans are already excited to get the chance to watch Abby this summer while she plays with the Western New York Flash.

Shanna O'Donovan said, “It's nice to have a local person to look up to and I think the kids are getting really excited about soccer in our neighborhood. I hope they continue to college and maybe Olympic games like she is.”

Abby says a huge reason she decided to come and play for the Flash is so she could spend time with her family.

News10NBC caught up with Abby's family while they were at one of her nephew's hockey games Friday night.

Pete Wambach, Abby's brother, said, “We were all really excited. I think the biggest excitement for our family is we will get to watch her on a regular basis. Her whole career growing up has been abroad.”

Beth Ritter, Abby's sister, said, “She lives such a crazy life style, traveling all over. To have her for more than vacations and victory tours is really exciting for the family.”

With nine nieces and nephews all together, being in Rochester this summer means Aunt Abby will to be able to spend a lot more time cheering on the little Wambach athletes.

Abby's 10-year-old nephew said, “We are always excited when she comes to town cause she is always in Japan or in France or somewhere, so it's just fun having her around.”
