One in three teenage girls admits they have set up in-person meetings with people they met online. That’s according to a new survey.
Researchers at Cincinnati Children's Hospital interviewed more than 200 girls between the ages of 14 and 17. Half of the girls said they had been physically or sexually abused in the past year and almost one third of the girls said they set up off-line meetings with people they met on the internet before they knew who that person really was.
Experts recommend parents check their children's online activity and have serious discussions about the dangers of online chatting.
