A new Siena College poll released Thursday focuses on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s policies like minimum wage, early voting and the gun control legislation he signed into law this week.
Overall, the governor's favorability rating is at 71-percent, down one point since the last poll. His jobs approval rating stayed the same at 60-percent.
Taking a closer look at how Americans feel about the governor's policies, according to the poll, 83-percent of New Yorkers support a raise in the minimum wage and Cuomo's push for new early voting laws is backed by more than two thirds of responders.
The rush in Albany to pass the toughest gun laws in the country is strongly supported by the voters. Three quarters of New Yorkers approve new restrictions on ammunitions for assault weapons and 91-percent support harsher penalties for the sale of illegal guns or bringing guns on school grounds.
