It’s a heartwarming homecoming for twin girls who were joined at birth and recently separated in a marathon surgery. The girls are now sleeping in their own cribs back home in the Watertown area.
News10NBC has been tracking the progress of Amelia and Allison Tucker who are 10 months old.
Fire trucks escorted the twins and their parents to a welcome home ceremony in Belleville, Jefferson County Thursday night.
When Amelia and Allison were born, they shared a chest wall, diaphragm and liver. It took surgeons seven hours to separate them in November.
The doctor who lead the operation says the girls are expected to have full, independent lives.
