The Orleans County Sheriff's Office says an Albion man is dead following a two-car crash in the town of Gaines early Sunday morning.
Sheriff Scott Hess tells News10NBC a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Edward Schneider, of Medina, was delivering newspapers around 2:45 a.m. on Ridge Road near Crandall Road. Sheriff Hess says Schneider was traveling westbound along the opposite side of the road when another car, driven by 22-year-old Cameron Hess, ran off the road and struck Schneider's vehicle head-on.
Schneider was extricated from his vehicle and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. Officials say he is currently listed in satisfactory condition. 21-year-old Christopher Swan, who was a passenger in Schneider's vehicle, was partially ejected during the collision and also transported to Strong. He is currently still under evaluation at the hospital.
Cameron Hess was extricated from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Sheriff Hess says the crash is still under investigation.
