Gates-Chili basketball teams are helping to raise money in the fight against cancer.
The Gates-Chili boys teams took part in the "Hoops for Hospitals" program tonight against Churchville-Chili.
Last month, the teams held the coaches versus cancer games and were able to raise more than $1,400 for the American Cancer Society. Tonight's triple header featured games between the freshmen, junior varisty, and Varsity teams.
"We've got donations at the gate, the school district is putting some in as well and then we're also the players in the program have helped raise money to so it's been a big community event,” said Chris Amesbury, Gates-Chili Varsity Coach.
The money raised in the Hoops for Hospitals program will go to the Golisano Children's Hospital.
