Tomato prices could be going up

There could be a huge increase in price of tomatoes. They could go from $2.50 a pound to $5 a pound.

It’s because of a trade agreement with Mexico that could end. The agreement sets a minimum tomato price so American growers can stay competitive. If it’s allowed to expire, prices could go up.

A final decision is expected this spring.
