The Detroit Bureau reports a surprising find from a new study into fuel economy.
The rate at which your fuel economy drops as you increase your speed is generally across the board similar for all makes and models of vehicles, including hybrids.
Researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee found increasing from 50 to 60 miles per hour will cut fuel economy about 12-percent.
It will drop about 14-percent as you go from 60 to 70 miles per hour and increasing to 80 will decrease fuel economy by 16-percent.
