A Geneseo man who police say pointed a long gun at his father and cousin has been charged with menacing.
State Police were called to assist a Livingston County Sheriff's Deputy at Gregory Walsh's home last week. When they arrived, investigators say Walsh's father was trying to get the gun away from him, but it didn't work and he fell on the ground.
Police say Walsh began to beat his father with the butt of the rifle and pointed it at him. A trooper ordered Walsh to put the gun down and when he didn't, investigators say the trooper shot Walsh in the left shoulder, causing a minor injury.
Walsh was arraigned in Geneseo Town Court and taken to the Livingston County Jail and held on bail. Orders of protection have been issued for the victims.
