Would you like to have ice cream for breakfast?
It's a tradition that started right here in Rochester more than 40 years ago and it continued Saturday morning.
The Moonlight Creamery in Fairport celebrated "International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day" Saturday morning.
The restaurant's menu featured breakfast inspired treats like Belgian waffle sundaes and ice cream filled donut sandwiches.
The owners say they are just glad they are able to get the community together for a holiday that started right here in our area.
“It actually started in the 1960's with a woman in Irondequoit who was just looking to break up the monotony of winter with her kids, so she invented this holiday. Now it's literally celebrated all over the world, but it's Rochester's own holiday,” said Moonlight Creamery owner Heidi Grenek.
Proceeds from Saturday's event went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
