A Rochester native is looking to make an impact in the biggest game of his young career.
26-year-old Arthur Jones will hit the field on Sunday with dreams of helping the Baltimore Ravens capture another Super Bowl championship. Big dreams for a player that was born right here in Rochester. From Rochester, Jones's family moved to Endicott and Jones played high school football at Union-Endicott High School before eventually playing for Syracuse University.
After his final year for the Orange, the Ravens chose Jones in the fifth round of the 2010 draft. In just three seasons, Jones has become a valuable part of the Ravens' defensive line and now has a chance at glory on Sunday night.
Jones will be well supported in Rochester during the game. Members of his family plan to gather at a city residence Sunday night to root for Jones and the Ravens to succeed.
Success is something that runs in the Jones family. Arthur's little brother, Chandler Jones, is also a defensive end for the New England Patriots. Those Patriots faced off against Arthur Jones and the Ravens in the AFC Championship game just two weeks ago.
The middle brother in the Jones family is Jon "Bones" Jones, who is currently the UFC light heavyweight champion.
