Elementary students in Brighton braved Sunday morning's frigid temperatures and proved you can still be active even in the winter.
Students at the Hillel Community Day School hit the snow to participate in a the Wintermania Trek-a-thon.
The event not only gets kids outside to play, but it was also a fundraiser.
Students worked their way through an obstacle course around the school's campus.
They were able to raise more than $11,000.
“A lot of parents getting involved. The community helped out a lot with their donations. It's been a community wide event and we appreciate everything that has been done for this event and the school in general,” said organizer Joseph Kilimnick.
All the money raised will go toward school scholarships.
