U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer wants a timeline for when repairs will be completed on the Statue of Liberty.
The Statue of Liberty complex was damaged when Hurricane Sandy hit the region last year. Sandy's wrath damaged docks, the promenade and several systems on Liberty Island and left 400 people without jobs. Ellis Island National Museum is also closed.
Senator Schumer said the Department of Interior has not provided an estimate for when repairs will be completed.
Senator Chuck Schumer, (D), New York, said, "So today we are asking the Department of Interior something really simple. Give us a date, tell us when the statue is going to open and give us a progress report as to why it's taken more than three months."
