A Webster man is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he stole his mother’s credit cards and made several hundreds of dollars worth of purchases.
Thirty-year-old Jeffrey Eckleben is charged with identity theft and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies say Eckleben took two of his mother’s credit cards and used them to purchase clothes, gasoline and gift cards. Investigators say he later traded those gift cards in at a pawn shop for cash. Deputies say this happened in July and August 2012.
Eckleben turned himself into police and was released on appearance tickets. He’s due in court at a later date.
