It's taken almost 10 years but Apple has reached a new milestone. Twenty-five billion songs have now been purchased on iTunes.
"Monkey Drums" by Chase Buch is the selection that has the honor of being the
25-billionth download. It was purchased by a customer in Germany who will receive an iTunes gift card worth more than $13,000 dollars.
On average, customers download 15,000 songs a minute.
The iTunes store which was launched in 2003 has 26-million songs to choose from in its retail catalog.
