Faculty members from the Webster school district raised funds for the West Webster Firefighters Saturday night with a basketball game and a few haircuts.
Faculty from Webster Thomas and Webster Schroeder high schools faced off in a benefit basketball match.
During halftime each school's assistant principal and Webster Thomas' librarian each shaved their heads. They say it shows an important message for students.
“It's just really humbling how much everybody cares. It's really amazing. We talk to kids all the time about (how) it's not what's on the outside that's important, it's what you're feeling on the inside, and you've got to be who you are, and nothing shows them better than actually doing it yourself,” said Webster Thomas Assistant Principal Sue Clark.
The schools had a goal of raising $5,000. They're still counting up the money, but they've already surpassed that mark. So far they've added up almost $9,000.
