Troopers say a 15-year-old boy attacked his aunt and a Dansville Police Officer after taking bath salts.

Officials tell News10NBC that State Police, Dansville Police, and the Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a truck stop near Exit 5 on Route 390 in Dansville around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning. Upon arrival, officers say they observed the 15-year-old boy biting and striking his aunt in a car parked at that stop.

Authorities attempted to remove the boy from the car, but troopers say he fought back and punched a Dansville officer in the head. The boy was eventually removed from the vehicle and he taken to Noyes Hospital for evaluation. His aunt was also transported to Noyes Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

Troopers say the Dansville officer that was struck suffered a concussion and was treated at Highland Hospital.

Investigators say the teen had taken bath salt prior to the incident and they believe that was the cause of his violent behavior. The incident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
