Residents in West Irondequoit voted Monday to make changes in the school district's finances.
The West Irondequoit School District voters approved a proposition to dissolve a multi-million dollar reserve fund and use that money for other things in the district. The vote was 801 yes to 76 no.
The reserve fund was set up in 1988 to help pay for property damage or liability claims in the school district and dissolving the fund would free up $3.5-million to increase the school budget.
