Students in Brighton jumped rope to raise money for the American Heart Association on Wednesday afternoon and in the process, the third through fifth graders at French Road Elementary School helped raise awareness about heart health.
For the past 14 years, this school has had the number one jump-a-thon in the nation. They hope to be the number one fundraiser again this year.
Last year, the students raised more than $84,000 for the American Heart Association.
Organizers say they raised between $75,000 and $90,000 for this year's event. A final tally will be released after third graders participate on Thursday.
