Two fire districts in our area – Ridge Culver and Kendall -- are getting tens of thousands of dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA.

Ridge-Culver firefighters are receiving more than 46,500 dollars to buy a re-filling station for their air supply tanks. Currently when the tanks are empty, they have to be sent out to be filled. The funding will also go toward new light duty gear used for car crashes and rescues.

In Kendall, the fire district is getting more than 27,000 to buy a new thermal imaging camera.
