As overall health care costs stabilize, the price of prescription drugs are climbing.
After dropping during the recession, government data now shows the cost of prescription drugs rose 3.6-percent last year. That's twice as high as the 1.7-percent national inflation rate.
All of this as prices for a doctor's visit, lab test and nursing home room all fell below the rate of inflation for the past two years.
The price increase is blamed on highly promoted new brand name drugs which aren't yet available in a cheaper generic form.
