5-year-old dies after sledding into traffic in Jamestown

Jamestown police say a 5-year-old girl has died after sledding down a hill and into a roadway, where she was struck by a car.
    
The accident happened Friday afternoon around 6 p.m. on Foote Avenue in Jamestown. The girl was sliding down a nearby hillside, and skidded into the roadway where she was struck. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
    
Police say no criminal charges are expected. The girl's name was not released.
    
Police are still investigating the accident.
