The subject of a narcotics investigation in Orleans County, who police say previously avoided capture, is now in custody.
In December 2012, members of the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force approached Allen Young in a parking lot in the Town of Ridgeway. According to deputies, Young got in his vehicle and took off speeding, nearly hitting two investigators. Investigators say moments after Young took off, he crashed his car and then took off into the woods.
As a result of the investigation in December, police say they seized more than a pound of marijuana, more than a pond of methylone (commonly known as “bath salts”, scale, packaging and other drug paraphernalia.
Investigators say they recently received a tip that Young was back in the area with a friend who lived in West Seneca, NY. The source was also able to provide police with a vehicle description.
On February 15, police stopped a vehicle matching that description and arrested Young.
Young is currently wanted on several felony charges and could potentially face federal charges.
