On Thursday, News10NBC expects to get an update on a Brighton teenager accused of crashing a car into a school bus and injuring three of his friends last October.

John Zakhary is expected to be in Monroe County Court later today. He has pleaded not guilty to nine charges including three counts of assault. That’s one count for each of the injured passengers. Scott Collins was the most seriously injured.

Police say Zakhary was speeding and went through a stop sign on Warren Avenue in Brighton with the three other kids in his car. The car crashed into the back of a school bus.

Zakhary is being tried as an adult and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.

We will be in court at 1:30 p.m. and will have an update on News10NBC at 5 and 6.
