He's been pastor at two churches and worked on several community initiatives. Now Reverend Marlowe Washington is hoping to continue his work for Rochester through a position on Rochester City Council.

Reverend Washington announced his candidacy at the Main Street Armory Thursday night.

He says he has always been dedicated to serving others and wants to expand that role.

Rev. Marlowe Washington, Running for City Council, said, “I love Rochester. I think this is a great place to raise children. I think this is a place where we can advance and get some things done.”

Rev. Washington was part of the campaign called "You Bet I Told", encouraging people who know about a crime to come forward with information anonymously by calling 3-1-1.
