The Sunshine Kids Gala was held Friday night at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The event was hosted by the Rochester Rotary and Rochester Automobile Dealers Association.
Money raised at the event goes to the Sunshine campus in Rush. Each year, children with disabilities have a chance to attend the camp where they can play and be involved in fun activities.
John White, Rochester Rotary President, said, "I want you to think about a rock wall, a zip line, a swimming pool, miniature golf, splash pad. These kids get a chance to be not just a kid with disabilities and not somebody confined to a wheel chair. These kids have a chance to be kids and have a ball and have the time of their lives at the Sunshine Camp."
Brad McAreavy, Rochester Automobile Dealers Association, said, "Every child that attends this camp, it's the one week of the year they have the best week of their lives."
Hundreds of children and young adults attend the camp every summer.
