The firing of former Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director Arild Remmereit has been the subject of much controversy among orchestra supporters over the past few months.

However, friends and fans of the renowned conductor showed their appreciation for his work during a special benefit concert on Sunday.

The Rochester Chamber Orchestra hosted Remmereit Sunday afternoon at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance Performance Hall.

The concert was sponsored by the friends of Remmereit and all the proceeds went to benefit the Chamber Orchestra.

Remmereit supporters say the concert is their way of saying thank you for his contributions during his time with the RPO.
