It's a proposal that could create a new site for community youth sports programs in our area. It's called Pinnacle Athletic Campus in Victor.
Developers want to turn the empty land into a complex with two indoor athletic facilities, soccer and baseball fields, as many as two hotels and space for medical, commercial or retail purposes.
Jim Ludwig told News10NBC this complex could bring in sports teams and groups from other areas.
About a dozen showed up at the Victor Town Board meeting to voice their concerns. While some people said they're not completely opposed to the idea, there are elements of the Pinnacle Athletic Campus that some people don't like.
Pamela Allen said, “To me, it feels like it's going to have a very negative impact.
I don't know how you try to sell your home when someones looking at a hotel.”
Pamela Allen lives near the proposed site and says she does not like the idea of putting hotels near her house. That concern was expressed by a number of the speakers. Some say Victor has enough hotels.
The developer proposes an indoor sportsplex, outdoor fields, an adventure park as well as a sports medicine, health and wellness facility and hotels for the tourists he hopes to attract to the area. That's another concern for residents. They worry the traffic would become impossible. People wanted to know if there's any type of agreement that would give the developer a tax break and who would pay for this project. Sunday night, the developer said there was no opposition to the proposal, but we heard lots of concerns.

Victor resident Randolph Lee said, “24/7 days a week. We know what hotels are like, we know what, celebrating out of towners.”
Stan Slate, Victor resident added, “I think that the road itself is not suited for any kind of traffic. It's a log jam up there.”
Developer Jim Ludwig said, “If there's a better solution we're open to that. We're so rigid, we'll make it happen.”
The board will have to decide on a zoning change to make this development happen. But before it does, The board scheduled a work session one hour before it's next meeting, to answer any and all of the comments and concerns raised tonight. That meeting is March 11th, at 6 pm.
