A permanent memorial to an adjunct RIT professor who police say was murdered. That's what friends of Edline Chun want to create at the Memorial Art Gallery.
A tribute ceremony to her was held Tuesday. A tree will be planted with a plaque bearing Chun's name or a bench will be installed in the gallery's sculpture garden with her name on it.

Chun's friend who is organizing the memorial explained why she's doing this.

Victoria Kaiulani Visiko said, “I decided I would not let her memory go softly into the night. I would shout if from the mountaintops if I had to."

There still had not been an official arrest in Chun's case. Police say the 73-year-old was the victim of a robbery and was then shot to death. Her body was found earlier this month at the bottom of a ravine in Tryon Park.
