Do you know someone who doesn't have health insurance? New numbers are out from Excellus and upstate New York is leading the charge to make sure people have coverage.
A new report looks at the number of people under the age of 65 who have health insurance. This was between the years 2009 through 2011 before the recent health care reform laws took effect. Officials say upstate New York’s numbers are significantly better than those of the rest of the state and nationwide percentages.
In upstate, 8.6-percent of people were without insurance compared to the state number of 11.6-percent. Nationwide, just over 15-percent didn't have insurance.
