The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is helping you keep your identity safe.
On Monday, March 4 at the main post office on Jefferson Road, you will be able to safely and securely destroy documents containing personal information.
This event is part of National Consumer Protect Week which takes place March 3 through March 9.
“We encourage consumers to protect themselves against frauds, scams and identity theft; crimes that come at a great financial and personal cost to the victims,” said U.S. Postal Service Inspector Ray Williams. “Being educated and informed, safe-guarding personal information and knowing where to find necessary resources goes a long way toward minimizing risk.”
The event on Monday runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
