He was convicted of raping and impregnating a comatose woman, and now he's a free man.

John Horace was released from prison at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Horace worked as an aide at a Brighton nursing facility at the time of the rape.
At a hearing in January, Judge Joanne Winslow determined John Horace to be a level 2 sex offender when he's released. The highest level is three.
John Horace was found guilty of raping a woman named "Kathy" at the facility. She was 29-years-old and in a chronic vegetative state after a car crash. He claims he artificially inseminated her because he believed it would help bring her out of the coma.
Horace has served two thirds of an 8 1/3- to 25- year sentence.
Horace will have to check in with police and give his address every 90 days. He will be on parole until July 4, 2021.
