The University of Rochester Basketball team is on to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Rochester will play host to Ithaca this weekend in the second round, but that wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of senior John DiBartolomeo.
Struggling to find his rhythm over the last four games, UAA Player of the year John DiBartolomeo scored a career high 42 points in the University of Rochester’s first round NCAA win over Fitchburg State. It was a performance the Yellowjackets desperately needed...
Also impressive in the classroom, DiBartolomeo wasn't available for an interview Wednesday afternoon due to his studies so his teammates summed up that unforgettable performance for him.
The spotlights has been on DiBartolomeo all season and that doesn't bother this team. And in the second round of the tournament, the UR will host Ithaca. The Bombers are 20-8.
UR is 16-1 at home this season, and head coach Luke Flockerzi can't emphasis enough the importance of the Palestra.
Rochester and Ithaca will tip Saturday 7:00 at the Palestra. If the UR, there is a good chance they will host the winner of SUNY Cortland and Middlebury in the Sweet 16.
