A 31-year-old Victor man has been arrested following a standoff on Ketchum Street in Victor on Monday.
Ryan Whidden is charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Deputies say the charge against Whidden is a result of him being in possession of a loaded handgun and that he does not have a New York State pistol permit.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say Whidden fired three shots at two parked vehicles and then barricaded himself inside his home with his wife until he surrendered to police around 8:30 p.m.
The shooting caused Victor schools to go into lockout mode for most of the day.
Whidden was arraigned and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail or $500,000 bond.
Deputies say the incident remains under investigation and additional charges – including reckless endangerment – are pending.
