Experts say by the time children reach the age of 18, one in four girls, and one in six boys suffer some type of sexual abuse.
Mary Whittier, Executive Director of the Bivona Child Advocacy Center says parents must talk to their children about reporting abuse.
"It's never their fault and need tell someone in their lives that they really trust,” said Whittier.
She went on to say 90% of children who are assaulted or abused are abused by someone they know.
