The family of a Syracuse University basketball player is safe after their Massachusetts home went up in flames Saturday night.
Family members and a former coach had just sat down to watch Michael Carter-Williams play in an NCAA tournament game against California when the fire broke out in another part of the house.
Everyone was able to escape the home safely.
Carter-Williams' mother, who was at the game in San Jose, got the call that her home was burning shortly after the game started.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
