A Rochester man who police say escaped from the Monroe County Jail in 2011 has pleaded guilty to that escape along with federal drug charges Thursday.
Prosecutors say 36-year-old Joseph Mitchell, along with his brothers Jamar and Jerrod, participated in a drug conspiracy to distribute hundreds of grams of cocaine in Rochester and Elmira from 2008 to 2011. During the investigation, officials found a loaded handgun and over $500,000 in cash hidden in the base of a fish tank at Mitchell's home.
Two other people, Eddie Palmer and Lakesia Binion, have already been convicted for their involvement in that 2011 jail escape.
Mitchell and his brothers will be sentenced in July.
