Can certain vaccines cause autism in children? A new study says shots given to kids does not increase the risk for autism.
Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention looked at more than 200 children with an autism disorder compared to 700 without. They looked closely at the levels of antigen in the children over their first two years of life.
Antigen is a substance in vaccines that makes the immune system develop antibodies against disease.
Researchers found the amount of antigen children with autism had been exposed to was the same as that of children without the disorder.
