As the Monroe County Department of Transportation continues its rehabilitation of an about 2.5-mile stretch of East Ridge Road in Irondequoit, the next one-way detour is scheduled to start this coming Monday, April 1.

The one-way detour, for phase two of the project, will detour westbound traffic on East Ridge Road between Carter Street and Hudson Avenue.

The detour will make use of the nearby Route 104 ramps, and is necessary to complete work on rehabilitating the asphalt pavement, curbing and sidewalks.

Eastbound traffic will proceed as normal during the detour.

The DOT is still hoping to have the overall project complete by the end of the 2013 construction season.

The original schedule, however, showed phase 5, from Goodman Street east to Culver Road, being last.

The DOT is, however, considering modifying the schedule to move phase 5 before phases 3 and 4. A decision will be made by early May.
