News10NBC has learned that the 2013 Rochester International Air Show at the Greater Rochester International Airport has been postponed because of the federal government sequestration cuts.
A memo from the Department of Defense stated that all aerial demonstrations, including flyovers, jump team demonstrations and participation in civilian airshows and military open houses would cease as of April 1 unless a budget resolution could be reached.
The Rochester International Air Show was scheduled to take place on June 1 and 2 and was to feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
