A brush fire overnight at the Rochester Institute of Technology is under investigation.
Fire crews responded to an open field on the southeast side of the campus at the intersection of John Street and Bailey Road.
Fire officials tell us that a pile of old trees and debris went up in flames.
There is no evidence of anything that would have naturally sparked the blaze and at this time it’s being called suspicious.
It took crews about an hour to put it out. The Henrietta Fire Chief tells News10NBC the area is especially dry for this early in spring and that meant laying more than 1500 feet of hose to bring enough water in to douse the flames.
No one was hurt.
